Em hotep, everyone! <bow>
Our ancestors were smart people and worked with the forces and energies of the universe in powerful and insightful ways. Today in my prayer and reflection about Aset, whose day is today, I find myself reaching for an elusive thread--not quite on the tip of my tongue. It has to do with the way the ancient Egyptians bracketed Heru Wer's day and Set's day with Wesir's and Aset's days. Wesir rules the West, place of eternal life; and Aset makes and supports the throne, ruler of this life. And in between, the contenders Heru and Set; but now their energies are balanced, as Heru Wer has absorbed and incorporated Set's force and discipline into Himself.
Maybe this will come to me later today. In the meantime, I invite your reflections on Aset's day. How are the energies affecting your life during this Unyear?

The energies have not been kind to me. On Set's birthday, I got bumped by another car (thank the gods no damage done) tearing down my alley as I pulled out to go to work. Due to blood taboo reasons, I couldn't do much yesterday besides take Sekhmet and Tehuti outside to greet the rising sun. Now I am sick and didn't feel like doing anything all day. I hope netjer doesn't mind a somewhat belated New Year's party. Though a lot of stuff has fallen into place too, building up for something. So the energies definately are tangible!
